PANCAKES WITH A SPRINKLING OF SUGER 🍯
A BOOK THAT HAS A DUSTING OF BEAUTIFUL PROSE/DESCRIPTIONS

Beautiful descriptions? The Book Thief is the absolute best book for this!! I love beautiful descriptions in books. I find if the writer is super descriptive and metaphorical, I connect so much deeper with the book! It just makes the plot stand out and so interesting.

PANCAKES WITH A CHOCOLATE NUTELLA DRIZZLE 🍫
A COMFORTING READ YOU COULD DEVOUR AGAIN AND AGAIN

Anna and The French Kiss is definitely the most comforting read ever. Its such a sweet, contemporary read which I read every year when I am in a rough patch. Its so easy to read and will make you smile! Definitely due to re-read it again.

PANCAKES WITH LEMON DRIZZLE 🍋
A SHARP CHARACTER IN WIT OR TEMPERAMENT

Sassy? Have a temper? A description of every awesome character in A Court of Mist and Fury!! I talk about this book so much (a lot) because it is literally so good! The sass and girl power in this book is brilliant and such a sassy book!! Love love love it !!

PANCAKES AND BLUEBERRIES 🦋
A CHARACTER THAT SEEMS SHARP AT FIRST, BUT ACTUALLY HAS HIDDEN DEPTHS

My second favourite book is Song of The Current!! (which I also talk about a lot, whoopsie) The character which seems sharp and closed but is actually SUCH a sweetheart is Markos. I admit I didn’t like him so much at the start, but loved him in the end!!

PANCAKES AND BANANA TOFFEE 🍌
A BOOK WITH A SLIPPERY PLOT THAT KEPT YOU GUESSING!

Stalking Jack The Ripper and Hunting Prince Dracula are two books which kept me guessing THE ENTIRE BOOK! There were so many plot twists and turns throughout these books and they were just awesome and I love a good puzzle-solving mystery book! Definitely recommend!!

PANCAKES, STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM 🍓
A BOOK THAT GAVE YOU ALL THE INDULGENT FEELS

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series gave me ALL the feels!! Such a cute book (and movie!) If you haven’t read this yet, be warned, I did cry multiple times throughout the series. Definitely gave me the feels!

PANCAKES AND CRISPY BACON 🥓
A ROMANTIC PAIRING YOU WEREN’T SURE YOU’D LIKE AT FIRST BUT THAT ENDED UP BEING THE PERFECT MATCH

Rhysand and Feyre in A Court of Mist and Fury !! I was such a big Tamlin fan (at first) but Rhysand ended up taking my heart !! THEY ARE THE PERFECT MATCH (I’m prepared to fight anyone who says otherwise)

PANCAKES AND PEANUT BUTTER 🥜
A CHARACTER THAT MAKES YOU RECOIL

(peanut butter is gross so this is the perfect heading!) Character that makes me recoil? Clancy in The Darkest Minds series. I couldn’t STAND him. I can’t even talk about it without getting mad!

PANCAKES AND GOLDEN SYRUP🍯
A NOVEL THAT GAVE YOU A SERIOUSLY BAD BOOK HANGOVER

A Court of Wings and Ruin !! Oh my GOSH. I cried so much at the end of this book and couldn’t ready a book for weeks afterwards. I destroyed me and oh lord I totally recommend. The hangover was so bad but so worth it.

PANCAKES WITH A BIT OF EVERYTHING🥞
A BOOK WITH WONDERFULLY DIVERSE CHARACTERS

Gonna dedicate this section to a few of my favourite diverse reads !! Children of Blood and Bone , The Sun is Also a Star and I’ll Give You The Sun are just a couple that I love !!

Thank you for reading and let me know if you decide to do this tag!!

Okay guys, I know what you’re thinking, which book are you even reviewing? Well, let me answer that for you!! Yesterday, I decided to re-read A Court of Thorns and Roses. This was so so so difficult for me as I am COMPLETELY faithful towards Rhysand and haven’t read ACOTAR since reading A Court of Mist and Fury (which was foreverrr ago!!).

Since I’ve been having a rough couple of weeks I decided to finally re-read my favourite series, because why not? I have read ACOMAF 3 times and ACOWAR 2 times but have never read the first book again because I just can’t stand Tamlin. (like, can you blame me??) But I finally caved in, even though my TBR is PILING up with books, and decided that I wanted to relive every part of the series (including the Tamlin parts).

This review WILL be spoiler-y, so if you haven’t read it, you have been warned !!

1

First things first, I just absolutely loveeee the whole plot/concept of the first book. SJM just places everything so perfectly and precisely that I couldn’t help but fall in love with her writing !!

THE CHARACTERS! My favourite part of ACOTAR would have to be the characters. Even though there isn’t much characters, they are so well constructed that you don’t need anymore the what she’s written. You feel all the pain the characters feel, you feel the blinding love and the deep sorrows Feyre encounters and it is so well written. My favourite characters are, of course, Feyre and Rhysand. Although Rhysand doesn’t appear much in the novel, he is still so significant within the book and he is just so charismatic and dreamy *heart eye emoji*

Since I didn’t remember much about the first book, my mind was blown when the final trial happened. Like ?? What ?? I was so stunned and so scared for what came after. I freaking loved how each High Lord extended their power to Feyre as a sign of gratitude, it was just so mesmerising and ethereal, so beautiful. I’m already itching to read ACOMAF a fourth time (whoops) (I’ve literally highlighted so much in my copy, I need new one!).

ALTHOUGH, I was slightly disappointed with one particular aspect of the first book. I loved so much of the book but I would have loved more scenery/landscape descriptions, the Prythian is known as such a beautiful world and I would have loved SJM to explore that more within this book !! (She does this magnificently in the following books but would have loved it in this book too!!)

Apart from that, this book was beyond amazing and can’t believe it took me so long to read it again !! Sarah J Maas really has a way with words and I would totally (definitely) recommend this series to anyone interested in fantasy or a Beauty and the Beast retelling  !! Definitely a 5 star rating !!

I’d love to chat more about this series so feel free to leave a comment below so we can talk! and if you happen to have written a review, please link it below so people can find all the more reason to read this beauty !!

Thank you for reading, have a lovely day/night ❤

Mini Reviews: LifeLik3 and Song of The Current

Hey guys! I am back with two mini reviews! I am 110% recommending these to you, so let’s get pumped.

Mini reviews

LifeLik3 by Jay Kristoff was a fantastic book! I generally don’t read science fiction as I prefer fantasy but this book was just great! It captivated me from the start and there was so many plot twist, it had such a great plot. Although I did spot one spelling mistake haha everything else I enjoyed.

The imagery in this book was so realistic and it made me visualise the setting so vividly. I absolutely love when I get a feel of the background and setting as it allows me to connect more to the characters and the setting, making me just completely fall in love with the story! Jay also added so much descriptions that it felt like while I was reading I had a little movie going on in my head which was so GREAT.

I also really loved the characters and the backstory for each one just molded the story to be so realistic and important, which I really appreciated.

Song of The Current by Sarah Tolcser has been my favourite read of the year by far. It is now my second favourite book (after ACOMAF of course) which is super weird as I have never had multiple favourite books before. This book helped me a lot with the development of my own WIP which made me connect with it so much more! It opened my eyes to writing characterisation and the history/worldbuilding.

The character development in this book was really good and Sarah did a great job in making me emotionally connected with each and every character. (I am pretty sure I cried at one point)

I also hate insta-love situations so Sarah did a great job at building romance within the book. (I LOVED MARKOS SO MUCH) *fangirls*

One of my favourite characters would have to be Fee as she was so kind and gentle and I just connected with her and her cute way of communicating. I just loved her ok.

Sorry that this was a short post but I am kind of sick right now so I am trying my best! If you have read either of these books feel free to start a chat with me! I would love to talk about them! :))

Books I’d Slay a Lion to Get Early

Hey guys! I am back with another post! I’d just like to announce that I should be posting a blog post every Saturday and Tuesday from now on (or at least two posts a week if I miss a day) So yay, be prepared from some awesomeness from me!

Today I will be doing a version on the Top Ten Tuesday challenge but I wont be doing 10 books because my brain can’t think of ten books sooooo I’ll just do the books I can’t wait for!

Let’s get into this!

4

  1. Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi is to be released in March 2019 I think. I really want this early because holy damn I just finished the first one and nearly cried in class. My friend was very very concerned for me. I just can’t wait to dive back into this world and finally see what happens!!
“After battling the impossible, Zélie and Amari have finally succeeded in bringing magic back to the land of Orïsha. But the ritual was more powerful than they could’ve imagined, reigniting the powers of not only the maji, but of nobles with magic ancestry, too. Now, Zélie struggles to unite the maji in an Orïsha where the enemy is just as powerful as they are. But when the monarchy and military unite to keep control of Orïsha, Zélie must fight to secure Amari’s right to the throne and protect the new maji from the monarchy’s wrath. With civil war looming on the horizon, Zélie finds herself at a breaking point: she must discover a way to bring the kingdom together or watch as Orïsha tears itself apart.”

  2. Cresent City by Sarah J Maas DO I EVEN NEED AN EXPLANATION FOR THIS?? Everyone should know by now that she is my favourite author so no questions should be asked.
“Set in a world where humans struggle to survive amid intricate hierarchies of demons, shifters, angels, and countless other magical creatures, Crescent City tells the story of half-human, half-Sidhe Bryce Quinlan. After the brutal slaying of her best friend, Bryce joins forces with a powerful warrior-angel to hunt down the killer, leading them toward a treacherous enemy that could destroy the fabric of their world. The series will feature an array of captivating new characters, including a spitfire heroine who will stop at nothing to avenge her friend and protect her vibrant city, an epic world on the brink of war, and Maas’ signature heart-pounding romance.”
  3. The new Sarah J Maas novel which I think is linked to the A Court of Thorns and Roses series that is coming next year (?) (I am not too sure but I LOVE that series so I am pumped) I don’t really know much about this but anywho.
  4. The Boy Who Steals Houses by C.G Drews because her instagram and blog is my life and I love her writing style and I just want to support her!!
“Can two broken boys find their perfect home? Sam is only fifteen but he and his autistic older brother, Avery, have been abandoned by every relative he’s ever known. Now Sam’s trying to build a new life for them. He survives by breaking into empty houses when their owners are away, until one day he’s caught out when a family returns home. To his amazement this large, chaotic family takes him under their wing – each teenager assuming Sam is a friend of another sibling. Sam finds himself inextricably caught up in their life, and falling for the beautiful Moxie. But Sam has a secret, and his past is about to catch up with him.”
  5. A Thousand Perfect Notes by C.G Drews is being released in early June and I actually just won a review copy of this so I am just excited to finally see what she’s been working on for so long! (UPDATE: it has been released!)
“An emotionally charged story of music, abuse and, ultimately, hope.Beck hates his life. He hates his violent mother. He hates his home. Most of all, he hates the piano that his mother forces him to play hour after hour, day after day. He will never play as she did before illness ended her career and left her bitter and broken. But Beck is too scared to stand up to his mother, and tell her his true passion, which is composing his own music – because the least suggestion of rebellion on his part ends in violence. When Beck meets August, a girl full of life, energy and laughter, love begins to awaken within him and he glimpses a way to escape his painful existence. But dare he reach for it?”

and that is all I can currently think of but later this year I will do another follow up with more releases!

Thankyou so much and comment the releases you want early down below!!

#NowWeRise Book Tag

Hey guys! I thought I would mix it up a bit and make today’s post a book tag thing. This tag is briefly based on Children of Blood and Bone and the Maji clans involved! Although I wasn’t tagged to do this, I saw this tag originally on WrittenWordWorlds and I thought it’d be perfect to do!

Doing a CoBaB tag was such a perfect idea because I just finished the book and IT WAS A FANTASTIC BOOK (seriously, go check this beauty out!)

Anywho I’ll just get into it!

Untitled (12)

What’s a trope you’d love to see die, and one you’d love to see live, or flourish more often?

  • Okay don’t get me started on this but I HATE when characters fall in love too quickly, it isn’t realistic and just makes it sound like amateur writing – like it doesn’t take a day to fall in love so why do people write about it like that?
  • So a trope I absolutely love is kinda same to what i just said – I’d love to see more realistic love – when love needs to be built, when it needs to be fought for. It just builds such a creative story line and the realism enables me to build a great connection with the novel and the characters.

Untitled (13)

What do you immediately connect with when it comes to a book?

  • I definitely connect with books that are realistic! I know I know, you’re probably thinking what about fantasy? Well, by realistic I mean, the love or romance is built up realistically (doesn’t happen in a day), if there is a war people you love die and that’s just how war goes. I hate when authors sugar coat real life topics so realistic books always grab my attention quickly.

Untitled (14)

If you could push a book on someone, what would you immediately recommend?

  • Ummm, is this even a question? A COURT OF MIST AND FURY but obviously they have to read A Court of Thorns and Roses first to truly love this book. It is my all-time favourite book and I have read it twice and annotated most of it. At the moment I don’t have my copy because my friend has been reading it for maybe over 6 months now (probably longer to be honest) but I am nagging her to finish so I can re-read it again (definitely not sorry, I love it so much).

Untitled (19)

If your house was on fire and you could only save one book, what would it be?

It would have to be my hardcover copy of A Court of Mist and Fury because it is 1) my favourite book and 2) my friend has my lovely annotated copy so it is already safe (ha ha I beat the system) But I also have an original set of the Narnia books so that would most likely be shoved in a bag and taken as well no matter what. This makes me really sad though because I’d hate to leave ALL my other books, they are just so precious.

Untitled (20)

What’s a book that had you floating on air out of happiness?

  • It would have to be any Stephanie Perkins books (especially Anna and the French Kiss) because they make so happy on the inside and they give me faith in the world! They are just so cute and no matter what they always make me smile with their cheesiness and cute cliques.

Untitled (17)

A book that’s made an impact (on you, or the world)?

  • Can I do a poetry book? Oh well I will anyways. The Poetry books my Rupi Kaur definitely widened my eyes to the world. Reading them gave me a wider sense of what is happening and how people feel throughout personal situations. I nearly cried in some of her poems and they just hit me real hard, I would definitely recommend these to anyone but they are quite graphic so be warned!

Untitled (18)

What are your favourite morally grey characters, who do you love that walks between darkness and light?

  • I actually don’t have an answer to this so feel free to answer for me in the comments (I am actually so boring sorry guys)

Untitled (21)

Which book had a plot twist you DID NOT SEE COMING and it made you sick with feels?

  • Oh my lord, all I am going to say is ALLEGIANT KILLED ME IMMENSELY AND OMG. Be warned if you read the divergent series – it will kill you.

Untitled (22)

Name your most anticipated releases for 2018!

  • Mine was actually A Court of Frost and Starlight but I haven’t read it yet as I have seen so many bad reviews and I want this book to be awesome and ALSO because I don’t want to wait until May next year for another book. Sooo I am kind of just holding it back as far as I can *cries at the year long wait*.

Untitled (23)

Your favourite underrated or side character?

  • Probably Amari in CoBaB! She was so precious at the start but developed into such a strong woman and I AM SO PROUD OF HER.

Thanks so much for reading this book tag thing and feel free to tag yourself! (Btw these graphics are from the blog I mentioned before, she said they can be used for the tag – just credit her :)) I also just posted a review earlier for Children of Blood and Bone so please go and check it out (it’s spoiler-free) (I hope).

Comment below if you are doing the tag!

10 Popular Books I Haven’t Read (yet)

Hey guys, I am back with a book tag-like thing. I saw it on another blog and thought I’d like to do this too! It’s pretty self-explanatory but I’ll explain anyway (because you know, why not?) Basically I’m just saying 10 different books that are popular and awesome that I haven’t read yet (whoops)

I’ll just get started! (There will be a quick collage of them down below!)

2

  1. Six of Crows: Man I know people rave about this but I have read the first few chapters a couple of times but just put it back down because I couldn’t be bothered soooo I should probably give that ago again considering I’ve been in a reading mood recently.
  2. A Darker Shade of Magic: I have the whole series on my shelf (I got them for Christmas) but I still haven’t read them, I did open ADSOM once but put it back down because my slump was overwhelming (man, it was so bad) But I will also give this one another try!
  3. Flame in the Mist: I bought this two weeks ago but I was reading CoBaB (I just finished reading this actually – there’s a spoiler-free review on my blog too!) But I have yet to pick it up as I just haven’t been in the mood. I’ve been to busy planning other special things (which you’ll hear about soon enough).
  4. Wolf by Wolf: Although it isn’t as popular as other books here I have seen a far amount of it posted throughout my feed so I did buy it but I haven’t read it yet (so many books bought but are unread, oopsie-daisy. It looks really interesting though so it is on my TBR!
  5. Leah on the Offbeat: SO MANY PEOPLE RAVE ABOUT THIS but yet I actually am not that interested? I’ve been in such a fantasy mood since being out of the slump that I can’t be bothered to read anything other than fantasy (it’s so bad, I know, I know) Eventually I will read it but not in this point of time.
  6. Illuminae: I did start this book and I think I might of made it past the half way mark (?) but it just didn’t click to much so I set it down. I’m sure I will pick it up again because it does have so many reviews and the I do want to buy the rest of the series for their covers (I can’t help it) so I know it will be read soon enough!!
  7. Warcross: I really really want to read this but I haven’t picked it up yet (I’ve been too caught with my actual TBR) But I am planning to buy it next time I am shopping so it won’t be on this list for long!
  8. The Cruel Prince: I actually have this featured on my bookshelf with some merch as I got it in the Fairyloot box but I haven’t read it yet (sadly) I plan on reading it soon but I just find hardcovers hard to read (pun intended) and I don’t want to damage this beauty while bringing it to and from school, you get me? So hopefully I find a way around this, wish me luck.
  9. Nevernight: I haven’t seen it in bookshops near me so I just haven’t really been to bothered to read it with SO MANY BOOKS on my neverending TBR. But now when I come to think of it, I am adding it on there, it sounds pretty cool.
  10. Strange the Dreamer: I have no idea what it’s about and I haven’t read any reviews so it hasn’t been on my TBR – that sounds so cruel oh lord, sorry.

(A quick reference of the above books!)

Thankyou for reading and feel free to tag my in any book tags – I need more things to write!! Comment a popular book you haven’t read yet!
